The special project aimed at gamifying the educational process on social media and promoting the IT sector was launched by Agona, the educational division of the IT company Technokratos. This initiative featured a series of posts, stories, and live streams from Agona’s mentors, providing foundational information, professional insights, and feedback on Java for those embarking on their journey into the world of IT.

The goal of the special project was to highlight the unique aspects of working in the IT sector and to spark users’ interest in learning programming languages, specifically Java, while also attracting a new audience.

To achieve this, the project drew inspiration from the world of the video game Hogwarts Legacy, which had been topping sales charts and generating significant media buzz for several months at the time of the launch.

All materials were designed to reflect the visual style of the game world, and the generated portraits of the mentors were crafted in the style of characters from the Wizarding World universe.
For the design of all posts and stories, a pair of fonts was carefully selected — ranging from the extremely narrow weights of Epos to the more subdued styles paired with the Malik text family. Although these two fonts belong to different classifications, they harmoniously complement each other in their details and proportions, establishing the desired visual aesthetic that echoes the style of Hogwarts Legacy.

For the initial voting phase to determine the focus of the special project, graphic symbols were created for four areas — Frontend, Design, QA, and Java — designed in the style of house crests from the video game universe.

Additionally, for the posts featuring educational materials from the mentors, illustrations were generated using the Midjourney v5 neural network, depicting characters reminiscent of Hogwarts professors and locations inspired by video game settings, as well as iconic places and recognizable attributes from the Harry Potter film series.
“This was our first special project incorporating elements of gamification. The visuals, overseen by Aleksey, successfully engaged a previously uninterested audience by 50%. Within two weeks, we attracted an additional 10% of new IT professionals and strengthened the community by drawing attention to content that is typically overlooked.”
